What is it?

The Calendar Feed grabs events from a Google Calendar and displays them in a list on your store site.

What are the benefits?

Reach more potential in-store customers and players by displaying your events on your store website.

What are the features and options?

  • Title / Heading (e.g. “Store Events”)

  • There are two layout options: (1) Standard feed, and (2) Tabbed feed

  • The tabbed feed options are outlined in the "Tabbed Calendar notes" section below

Important notes:

  • This feed is only compatible with Google Calendars, not any other calendar service or format

  • You must have a Google Calendar set up and publicly visible in order to use this feature

  • In some cases, there may be specific requirements for how you name the events on your calendar. For more info, see "Tabbed Calendar notes" section below.

How do I use it?

Set up your calendar:

Find your calendar credentials:

Set up your admin:

  1. Sign in to your CrystalCommerce admin

  2. Go to Account > Locations, and click “Edit” for the location.

  3. Add your Google Calendar ID and Google Calendar API Key into the associated fields

  4. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page

Tabbed Calendar notes:

The Tabbed Calendar Feed sorts your events into groups (tabs) by finding keywords in the event titles. The feed does not look at the event description when sorting, so make sure the titles contain the keywords.

When you choose the Tabbed layout, we will need you to specify the following:

  1. The tab names that you want. We recommend 3 or 4 tabs max, with short or abbreviated names. e.g. “Magic”, “Minis”, “Tabletop”, “FOW”

  2. A few keywords that you will use, or are already using, in your event names. We already have common default keywords, but can add custom ones if needed.
